EARandEYE: Charles Crawford's 'Pickaphone', 1888

4. September 1888: CHARLES CRAWFORD stellt sein 'PICKAPHONE' in Detroit vor, eine Instrumenten-Konstruktion, die aus zahlreichen Zupfinstrumenten (Gitarre, Mandoline, Banjo, Zither, der Bambusharfe Valiha aus Madagascar), Templeblocks und einem Cello bestand und von nur einer Person bedient werden konnte. Crawford trat als Violinist auf, wobei er sein Geigenspiel mit dem Pickaphone begleitete, das er möglicherweise mit den Füßen spielte.

  1. I have pretty much the same photo in my collection. The gentleman looks similar but instead of a violin he is holding a tophat. In this instance the photographer is an E.O. Sprague 374 & 376 Ontario St, Cleveland Ohio
